Abraham
Abraham in the Bible.
God promised Abraham that if he would leave his home and journey to a land that he had never seen before, he would be blessed and his descendants would become a great nation and they would outnumber the stars in the sky. Abraham lived in a place called Ur of the Chaldees in the Persian Gulf when God appeared to him. Later when Abraham obeyed the Lord he gave birth in his old age to his son Isaac. God promised Abraham that through Isaac the promise would come that one day one of his descendants would be the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
