Who was Abednego?

Abednego in the Bible.

Abednego was one of the three Hebrews (Shadrach, Mechach, and Abednego) who were thrown into the fiery pit by King Nebuchadnezzar according to the book of Daniel. He was young like Daniel and a friend, they were brought to Babylon as prisoners when Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BC. The Bible records that after King Nebuchadnezzar passed by and looked into the fiery furnace he saw four men rather than three, and he said that the fourth looked like a son of the gods. We know that the fourth man in the fiery furnace was none other than Jesus himself. The Bible says that they were not harmed, nor did they smell like fire or smoke.
