Who was Aaron?

Aaron in the Bible.

Aaron was the older brother of Moses and became the first high priest of ancient Israel. He was born in Egypt just a year before Pharaoh gave his decree to kill all the Hebrew male children because the Hebrews were multiplying so quickly. Moses was born three years later and therefore Aaron was three years older than Moses. God used Aaron to speak to Pharaoh whatever Moses told him to say. Aaron was guilty of building a golden calf when Moses was on Mount Sinai and delayed his return. Moses rebuked him for this sin and also the people of Israel. Later in Numbers 16 when Korah rebelled against Moses and Aaron the Lord did a great miracle by causing the almond blossom to sprout, and therefore confirming that Aaron was meant to be God's priest. Aaron died at Mount Hor 40 years after the Israelites left Egypt, he was 123 years old and his son Eleazar became the next priest.
